Our Home

This beautiful home was originally built as a large and grand house at the beginning of the 1900’s, and has been totally renovated and refurbished over the years to accommodate up to 21 residents requiring nursing care.

The home comprises 13 single bedrooms and 3 shared rooms, some of which are en-suite. Residents have access to both bathrooms and a shower room, the bathroom having a specialist accessible bath.

Our bedrooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard and we encourage our residents to bring in personal items such as ornaments and photographs to enable them to feel completely at home. Families can install personal televisions and telephones as they wish.

There is a lounge and separate dining room for residents in the main house, with a further quieter lounge and café area in the specialist dementia wing, these are perfect for residents to meet their families and friends and relax in. The lounge has a television, radio, DVD and video player, with a selection of videos and tapes for residents to enjoy.

We have a large selection of books, both large and small print and daily activity schedule of group and 1:1 activities that encompasses all residents interests and tastes.

There is a large, well established garden for residents to enjoy when they wish.  We have several seating areas on the lawns and on the patio, where we often have afternoon tea.

There is ample room for car parking at the front of the property.

Our Team

The Matron, Vandana Gupta, has the day to day responsibility  for the running of the home. Vandy is a Registered General Nurse and is registered with the Care Quality Commission as the Manager of Woodlands Ridge.

Vanday is supported by a team of skilled nurses and care staff who have an on-going programme of training and development which enables them to plan and deliver the appropriate care to meet the individual needs of our residents.

Woodlands Ridge also has excellent cleaning, laundry, maintenance and gardening ancillary staff who ensure the home is always well presented and provides a safe and comfortable environment.

Our chefs know that good food makes happy people. So we ensure that each resident’s dietary preferences and specific nutritional needs are catered for, and a selection of home-prepared and home-cooked meals are served to the highest standard throughout the day.
