Welcome Denehurst

Denehurst is a private Care Home which was purchased by Contemplation Care Limited in March 2008. 

The Home is currently registered with the Care Quality Commissionommission to support 11 male and female residents under the Service Category of Care Homes for Adults.

We are able to support individuals under the Service User Categories of Learning disabilities (LD), and Mental Disorder (MD)

Individualised Care

Personalised care plans are developed with the Service User to ensure the individual’s needs are met with the promotion of independence and personal development at the heart of a quality, flexible plan.

The Manager, Robin Mulford, is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection as the Manager of Denehurst. Robin can be contacted at the Home and has the day to day responsibility for the running of the Home.

The manager is supported by a the group structure which include learning difficulties specialists, also employed directly at Denehurst is two senior member of staff and care staff who have an on-going program of training and development which enables them to plan and deliver the appropriate care to meet the individual needs of our residents.

Robin, as manager, is also responsible for financial matters at the home and this is supported by the financial team of Contemplation Care based in Waterlooville.


 Activities and the promotion of independence

We promote a wide range of activities which support the development of "life skills", promote independence and are tailored to the individual’s aspirations.

The service has a small car for outings which can also be used for attending appointments. The Group has a mini bus which can be accessed for residents from Denehurst to go out on day trips etc.

All domestic chores and cooking is undertaken by the staff, however residents are encouraged to participate as this is a great opportunity to build on skill development and life skills.

The service promotes a homely environment which is tailored to the individuals needs. The Home comprises of 11 single bedrooms 7 of which are en-suite. There are 2 bathrooms one of which has a standard bath and the other has a walk in shower. We also have a separate toilet.
The bedrooms are equipped and decorated to a high standard, however, Service Users are encouraged to personalise their rooms and the home in general.

As expected, all rooms meet current fire standards and regulations. All bedrooms, corridors and communal rooms are equipped with smoke alarms. Corridor doors have automatic fire doors fitted. Emergency lighting systems are in place and fire drills are carried out on a planned regular basis.

The Home has a communal lounge, separate dining area and a small conservatory overlooking the garden for residents and their families to use. The lounge is equipped with a television with Sky TV facilities, DVD player and a stereo.

There is a medium sized attractive, well-established garden for the residents to enjoy during fine weather. The home is within a quiet residential road within walking distance of the high street in the coastal town of New Milton.
